 Felbrigg Hall

Norfolk
Apart from the popular attractions such as the waterways of the Broads and gathering in the larger resorts, Norfolk offers a peaceful and picturesque county of grand estates, unspoilt coastline, attractive scenery and prolific wildlife. The National Trust cares for some of the most magnificent properties in the region, together with several miles of coast including the renowned Blakeney Point nature reserve. The National Trust owned estates of Blickling, Felbrigg, Sheringham and Horsey - and the converted mill at Burnham Overy - are all excellent bases from which to explore Norfolk.

Felbrigg Hall
Felbrigg Hall is one of the finest 17th-century houses in East Anglia. Standing in glorious parkland with miles of open and woodland walks, it is another outstanding reason to visit North Norfolk. The Hall contains its original 18th century furniture and Grand Tour paintings, as well as an outstanding library. There is also a charming walled garden with a dovecote, a small orchard and the National Collection of Colchicum. The estate has a selection of holiday cottages and apartments – some in woodland settings, others on the edge of the parkland and two apartments next to the Hall. Sheringham Park and the Blickling estate are nearby, as is the traditional seaside town of Cromer, with its famous pier, while few can resist sampling tender Cromer crabs.

National Trust places nearby: Blakeney National Nature Reserve, Blickling Hall, Horsey Windpump, Sheringham Park. Shop and pub: Cromer, Alymerton. Tea-room/café/restaurant: Fellbrigg Hall. Beach: blue flag beaches at Sheringham. Railway station: Cromer. Other attractions: Norwich city, Norfolk Broads, North Norfolk coast, towns of Sheringham and Holt. Activities: walking, nature trails, birdwatching, fishing, cycling.
