Visitors' Book - Ambrey Cottage

Just returned from a fantastic 3 day get away at Ambrey Cottage. Enjoyed some super walks in the forest and to Croft Castle. Couldn't fault the cottage at all - magnificiently remote location, literally buzzing with wildlife and superbly equipped. The only problem we now have is deciding on our favourite NT cottage - they just keep getting better and better :)

Don't be put off by the warning about access during severe weather. The access road though not tarmaced is well laid gravel, the only problem I can see is in snow. It's worth taking some bird food, there were some feeders but we noticed that if there were more away from the house other birds may have visted them. Lovely cottage warm and we had no problems with the generator.

We just spent a fantastic week at Ambrey cottage (May 2008). It's well equipped and quite comfortable. And the location is amazing-surrounded by beautiful forests..there were carpets of bluebells as far as you could see.

Ambrey cottage has made our list of "best places on the planet", we'll be back next spring!
