| Message: | My wife and I had a very relaxing week in Garden Cottage in July. The weather was "mixed" but that did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. The cottage is spacious and very well equipped, and the biggest plus point was beng able to walk straight out of our front door into the walled garden, glass of wine in hand. There is plenty to see round about, Berrington Castle is a little known gem and further afield Powis Castle and gardens are stunning. We also had a facsinating day in Hereford looking at the Mappa Mundi and chained library.
There are plenty of good pubs round about, the Bell in Yarpole (and the village shop in the church is excellent), the Boot in Orleton and the Riverside Inn in Aymestry all do excellent food.
We read in today's Times that they recommend the walk up to Croft Ambury fort and we certainly agree, the views from the top are stunning.
Many thanks to the NT for our 9th NT cottage holiday, we would love to come back! |
