Beautiful apartment -- large and well-equipped; comfortable beds; new bathroom (the power shower is great!). The welcome tray of tea/coffee with milk in the fridge was wonderful. Gorgeous views overlooking the deer park and croquet lawn. Our whole visit was utterly magic, and I'd happily stay again.
A word of advice to anyone staying here - pack your things in several small bags rather than try to haul large suitcases up and down those spiral stairs.

A beautiful, calm, serene experience. Amazing to be in the property and having the grounds virtually to ourselves in the evening. Description of the steep spiral staircase nearly put us off but if we could do it anyone could-we have 4 children 6, 4, 2 and baby!
Interiors not as high a spec as other NT cottages but the grounds are the best ever. Restaurant great for lunch, and take away sandwiches for tea on the croquet lawn-what more could you want?

We stayed at Charlecote with our two teenage girls, Coralie and Sarah. We found it a fantastic base for touring, with lots to do. The house itself is interesting, and the staff are very friendly. The most magical experience was seeing the deer who came close to the house in the evening when the visitors had gone home. Picnicking and croquet were also good fun! We'd love to return soon.
