 Malvern Hills

Hereford, Worcester and Shropshire
These counties bordering Wales to the west, the Cotswolds to the south and the former industrial heart of England to the east offer the visitor a combination of beautiful, rolling and totally unspoilt countryside and the fine historic cathedral cities of Gloucester, Worcester and Shrewsbury. The National Trust protects some of the best countryside, finest houses and most important gardens in the area. Berrington Hall in Herefordshire is an elegant neo-classical house of the late 18th-century and now has a holiday home in a part of its gatehouse. We also offer the chance to become part of living history by staying in the unique Back to Back houses in the heart of Birmingham in the West Midlands. Three of our cottages at Dudmaston, Shropshire, offer the ideal spot for a quiet break, excellent for walking, cycling and fishing.

Hanbury Hall
Built in 1701, this elegant William and ‘Mary-style’ red brick house contains outstanding painted ceilings and a painted staircase by Sir James Thornhill. A typical example of an English country house built by a prosperous local family, it stands in acres of fine parkland. There are two apartments within the house that have been converted into comfortable holiday accommodation with far reaching views, whilst the third holiday cottage on the estate is the attractive lodge, standing at the gates of the estate. North Wing apartment is on the second floor in the former servant’s quarters of the house. South Wing apartment is on the same floor but is slightly smaller. Visitors to both apartments can enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the surrounding gardens and parkland when the property is closed to the public.

National Trust places nearby: Clent Hills Coughton Court, Croome Park, The Greyfriars, Rosedene. Shop and pub: Hanbury, Droitwich, Bromsgrove. Tea-room/café/restaurant: tea-room at Hanbury Hall, restaurants in Droitwich, Bromsgrove. Railway station: Droitwich. Other attractions: Stratford-upon-Avon, Malvern Hills. Activities: walking.
