We have four holiday apartments in Acorn House - Crowdundle, Bank Wood, Sandwath and Birksike - popular with those wanting to stay on a traditional estate in a glorious part of Britain. The approach to the apartments is through sweeping parkland which visitors can enjoy in peace and tranquillity when the house is closed to visitors. The apartments have no private gardens but visitors can enjoy the woodland walk along Crowdundle Beck, full of wild flowers and beautiful frees, to the partially restored Acorn Bank watermill.
Birksike occupies one end of the top floor of Acorn House. The apartment has two bedrooms one of which has views over the renowned sunken garden. The name Birksike is taken from a ditch, Sike being the local word for ditch, that can be seen from the property. The apartment is accessed through the house via the main staircase.
Second Floor: Large entrance hall, sitting/dining room, small kitchen, two bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin), bathroom with shower over bath.
