Lord Armstrong built Garden Cottage for his agent in 1863. The building attracts the sun and faces to the east and south, with views across the Italian Terrace and over the parkland down to the Coquet Valley. Garden Cottage is situated in the most southerly part of the Cragside Estate.
Ground Floor: entrance porch, sitting room with wood burning stove, three steps lead to large kitchen/dining room, bedroom (1 double with 5' bed) with en-suite shower room and lavatory, ground floor bathroom with shower over bath.
First Floor: staircase from sitting room to two bedrooms in the eaves (2 twins) one with wash hand basin.
