| | | | Visitors' Book - White Edge LodgeLongshaw Estate Longshaw nr Sheffield Derbyshire | From: | Pete, Debs and dogs December 2010 | | Message: | We have just had the most amazing Christmas at White Edge Lodge. The heavy snow and frost made it all the more exciting. The Lodge is fabulous - loved the kitchen with the aga and the views from the roll top bath were something else! A real walkers paradise but also lots of places to visit and great local pubs. A truly memorable Christmas - thanks again NT...perfect cottage..... |
From: | Richard and Katie Wright | | Message: | We stayed here during a week of fantastic sunny November weather (2005), and had one of our best holidays ever. The house is gorgeous, and extremely warm (we had to open the windows sometimes). The kitchen was our favourite room, and we spent a lot of time there, and had great fun with the Aga. The main attraction was walking, and this is one of the very best locations for doing that in the UK - Stannage Edge, Kinder Scout etc. What is incredible is how White Edge Lodge can be so close to Sheffield (8 miles to the centre), but yet so remote and peaceful (we saw stags around the house most days). Highly recommended, especially for keen walkers. |
From: | Patrick & Joanne Sullivan, South Wales | | Message: | A lovely warm cottage with fantastic views. Enjoyed lovely walks in the snow. Visited the surrounding pubs, Grouse Inn very friendly and the Fox Hound up the road good value for money. Lit log fires every night and cooked on the great Aga – husband wants to take the Aga home! Thanks for a great week in this special cottage, being our first visit to a National Trust cottage will definitely book many more NT holiday cottages in the future – booked cottage for husbands 40th and had a very memorable week. |
