Spent NYE 2011/2012 here. Bliss. Seclusion and comfort combined... and champagne to welcome in the New Year (thanks Jean, caretaker). Recommended for country walks (on the door) and close to Calke Abbey, Ferrers Craft Centre, Ashby dl Z, Leicester and Derby.

A warm, cosy and very comfortable cottage that is clearly looked after with great care. Some lovely walks straight from the door specially across the stile and field into Bryan's Coppice, my poor little dog was tired out and will no doubt sleep for a week. Thank you National Trust, once again you have excelled, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Just got back from New Year at Wicket Nook. Thanks for the Champagne. A lovely cosy cottage in a quiet spot. The woodpeckers and nuthatch to name a few kept our 11 year old enthralled.
