We have had a lovely stay in “The Old Smithy” – thank you for such a cosy and welcoming cottage. We can recommend the walk from Buckden – Cray – Yockenthwaite – Hubberholme and lunch at the George in Hubberholme was very good. Goredale Scar and Malham Tarn and Cove are a must – did a fabulous 9 mile walk with a somewhat scary scramble up Goredale Scar – not for the faint hearted! A really good trip, in a lovely part of the country. Thank you National Trust.

We needed to recharge our batteries after another long haul. The Smithy was to die for only wish I could afford to buy it – food and drink abound and nothing to beat it anywhere – we will be back in September or October for another recharge. Now sorry to say back home to 3 teenagers and a life of toil.

Super little cottage, cozy and warm. great walking right from the doorstep. Very well equipt even managed a full roast dinner with Yorkshire puds! If you need a break from the rat race this is the place
