Visitors' Book - 5 Rowleaze Cottage

This was our third cottages break and we agreed our favourite so far. Approached down a farm lane is was very cosy and secluded. We woke to the lovely smell of Jasmine outside the bedroom window. We had wonderful weather for late September 2005 and covered miles of ground around the local countryside including a shopping trip to Oxford. A very cosy warm cottage again with all the comforts of home. I certainly didn't want to go home and we booked another break within a couple of weeks.

We arrived on Friday evening after work - it was very cold with a clear night sky which gave us spectacular views of the stars (compared with our usual London light - polluted sky!). On Saturday it was cold but very sunny - we wrapped up warm and did a 4 hour walk through the estate grounds to Badbury Hill, which gives great views of the surrounding countryside - including Faringdon Folly and the Uffington White Horse (in the distance) - and then on to Great Coxwell Barn which is worth a visit. We had a nice fire in the evening!

Our second visit to this lovely cottage. We love the Cotswolds. The week has flown past. A visit to the Plough at Kelmscot is a must. Good sea food. Our batteries have been re-charged. Thank you National Trust. We shall be back.
