Enjoyed a lovely short February 09 Break here, absolutely great, the cottage is comfortable, clean and has a wealth of history. The location, at the side of a lock, is superb for wildlife and the locality has good walks, scenery and plenty of pubs within a relaxing walking distance for a full day out in the fresh air. First Class NT, thanks so much!

The cottage is stunning. More info on the fishing for those inclined would be advantageous It was only on our last day that the lock keeper told us that the free fishing permit in the cottage allowed you to fish the far bank of the river for several fields either side of the lock. If you require any help or advice seek out the lock keeper they are always willing to help and have a great knowledge of the river

Lock Cottage exceeded all our expectations; it is situated in a truly wonderful position on the weir. We loved the homely feel of the cottage and the sound of running water. Sadly we were only there for a few days but in that time we completely relaxed as it offered such a peaceful haven in which to escape. We shall definitely return as we would like to stay there when the weather is a little warmer. Fishing in November was a bit chilly !
The locals were all very friendly and many thanks to the NT for the welcome tray.
