With a dreamy position right on the edge of Carminowe Creek, the eastern arm of Loe Pool, Pentire Farm looks out over the still, shimmering water, with the distant rumble of the waves breaking on Loe Bar beyond. This isolated eighteenth-century farm has been converted into two separate dwellings: the traditional farmhouse, with its original features including slate floors and low beams, and the single storey barn, providing comfortable accommodation on one level and with a spacious living area open to its original rafters. Both have tranquil gardens enjoying bucolic views over the Loe and fields, while the buzzards wheel in the sky above and the gulls chatter on the water. The restaurants, pubs and shops of Porthleven are a pleasant two-mile walk along the sands from here: those of Helston just two miles inland by car or foot.
