The Canyack is a 19th-century miners cottage, set high on the slopes of the secluded Cot Valley, a mile outside St Just. Its careful restoration, which retained its special historic character whilst providing comfortable and simply elegant accommodation, won an award for the Trust. An easy walk down the valley will take you to the fascinating cove of Porth Nanven with its vast rounded boulders and raised beach; from here you can walk along the coast path to Cape Cornwall to watch the sunset, past the ancient and enigmatic remains of Ballowall Barrow.
