Can you imagine the exhilaration of staying right beside a lighthouse, perched on the edge of cliffs in splendid isolation with unrivalled views of the Bristol Channel. On the remote and impressive Foreland Point, the most northerly point in Devon, you will find the Lighthouse Keepers' Cottage partway down the cliffs alongside the Lynmouth Foreland Lighthouse that was built in 1900. This is a most dramatic spot: the large cottage is reached at the end of a narrow road that descends breathtakingly in a series of hairpin bends through National Trust moorland. This unique building offers a simpler style of accommodation that is ideal for groups of walkers, birdwatchers and anyone who loves remoteness and extraordinary scenery. You may get a chance to see dolphins, porpoise and gannets fishing at high tide from the lighthouse. which is still operating, and was automated in 1994, but you may be relieved to hear that the foghorn is no longer in use.

Ground Floor: kitchen, dining room, sitting room with electric fire, television room, five bedrooms (2 doubles, 3 twins), bathroom, shower room, table-tennis room and laundry room.

Facilities
Telephone, radio, microwave, television, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer.

Visitor Notes:
Oil central heating included. Parking available for four vehicles. There is a long flight of steep steps leading from the car park to the lighthouse. The cliffs are sheer below the lighthouse.

Access to the cottage is down a steep and winding single track that, in severe winter conditions, is unsafe to negotiate. In periods of very bad weather we may not be able to prepare the cottage for your stay. In these circumstances it is very unlikely that you would be able to access the cottage safely. If this is the case we will contact you in advance and discuss options with you.

For any 2 night starting on a Friday, or 3 night starting on a Thursday, guests can benefit from a late departure time on the Sunday of 6pm, at no extra charge.
