Just back from a 3 night break with friends, what a place, The drive in starts the adventure, the cottage is very warn and cosy,in fact considering it was December too hot!!! We were turning the heat down! welcome tray was just that after unloading the cars up and down the 58 granite steps . Tea, Coffee, delicious Lemon shortbread and lovely flowers. the weather was not that wonderful but hey it is December! We all want to come back. Never worked out who/what RUSTY was, as there is no mention in any of the books, other than the visitor s book. Amazing place.

Amazing place with lovely views and nicely done up in the right style for a lighthouse. Already the drive to the lighthouse was spectacular. We were 3 families with kids from age 4 to 12. Will go back!!! We loved it.

WOW - what an amazing place! This was a weekend with friends and family to celebrate a 50th birthday. None of us were disappointed with the cottage. The drive down to it was a little hairy but beautifully spectacular. Looking out to sea, over to Wales, watching the rythmic reflection of the lighthouse across the water was captivating. The sunset was amazing with fantastic colours. There are not enough superlatives to do this location justice. We walked to Lynton/Lynmouth across Countisbury Hill and it was awesome, even the photographs can't capture the beauty of the landscape.
The cottage is brilliantly equipped with everything you can think of and in some cases, more.
Rusty didn't make an appearance (as far as we're aware) but I agree with a previous entry, there was 'something', whether it was the atmosphere or not, I'll never know!
If you are looking for a different place to stay ~ go for it, you won't regret it.
And a special thank you to Nigel the caretaker for the little extra touches such as flowers, a welcome card and biscuits.
