Visitors' Book - The Old School House

My wife and I stayed at the Old school House in Durgan a couple of years ago and also by chance as there was a late cancellation - the NT booking agent said it came highly recommended...we weren't disapppointed!! I wanted to add this 'online' visitors book message to the one we added in the School House book just so potential visitors get inspired and try and book it if they can... we've tried since and found the times we wanted have been booked up months and months in advance!
Durgan and Helford Passage is truely a special place, with a true romantic and timeless quality which is why we make a pilgrimage to Helford every year since. The visitors book with 40 years of entries is a mine of information in itself, indeed a fascinating anthology of some families growth over a generation as their repeat visits describe.
The places of interest close by offer something for everyone, but it's the coastal and creek walks which make this small part of the world unique - All you really need is a copy of Frenchmans Creek to read and an OS Landranger map.
We'll be returning this year to Durgan with our own new addition...our 6 month old daughter!!

We spent a week in May at this lovely property with our 10 month old daughter. We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this property for those who wish to get away from it all but have a car when they want to explore the local area.

What a perfect cottage in a perfect setting. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Extremely well equipped. It feels like home instantly. We enjoyed meals looking out over the beach, open fires in the evening and finding shells on the beach. Wonderfully quiet location and such a relaxing place to be. Especially cosy when its stormy outside at night. Spent a quiet evening reading the visitor book which goes back to the late 60s, very interesting. Arrived feeling jaded and world weary, left feeling completely regenerated and like we've been let in on some special magical secret. Highly recommended!
