The largest tract of wilderness in southern Britain, Dartmoor National Park with its sweeping moorland, granite tors, streams and wooded valleys has a rugged beauty all of its own. The Trust owns a substantial part of Dartmoor and there are around 600 miles of public rights of way, although the public can roam freely on unenclosed, open moorland both on foot or on horseback. Our holiday homes are on the edge of the village of Chagford and in the centre of Drewsteignton giving easy access to all that the area has to offer. In contrast, close to the cathedral city of Exeter is a collection of thatched cottages in and around the village of Broadclyst on the Killerton estate, surrounding Killerton House. From here there is ready access to all that this part of Devon has to offer – the popular south coast resorts of Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Dawlish or the more rugged delights of Dartmoor.
