These three adjoining cottages together form Mooredge Cottages: a thatched row (formerly one farmhouse) close to the village of Broadclyst, on the edge of the Killerton estate and a few miles north-east of Exeter. The cottages are a marvellous example of traditional Devon building and contain many original features including open-beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplaces and latticed windows. Mattress Cottage is the oldest part of the farmhouse and has a fifteenth-century oak screen and a spiral staircase. The three cottages share a large garden and parking area. With Dartmoor within easy reach, the popular south coast nearby and the rural countryside of East Devon on their doorsteps, these cottages make an ideal base for exploring some of Devons finest scenery. Closer to home, there is more than enough of interest on the Killerton estate alone to occupy an entire holiday. There is a pub and shop within walking distance in Broadclyst.
