We returned for a second visit to Lacock with our parents and it was just as good as the first visit. It was my mum & dads first national trust property and they loved it.

This beautiful cottage was the perfect place for our weekend away. Well done to the cottages team for the work they have done in preparing this for holiday makers.

The cottage looks compact and bijou, but is like a tardis with lots of rooms. The kitchen/utility is superbly appointed for keen cooks. The sitting room is very comfortable with a lovely woodburner, and there's a good shower room. The bedrooms are large and beds very comfy. All perfect for friends or families.

From the front door you step into the main street of the lovely village with intriguing small shops, fascinating places of historic interest and cosy tea rooms, the Fox Talbot Museum, the Pottery, local craft fairs and the opportunity to sample local food. Dinner at the Red Lion was so good that we went back for Sunday lunch.

We had a lovely weekend here in October. Lacock is amazing, like stepping back in time, the cottage was lovely and would be fabulous in the summer sitting outdoors but a bit too cold in October. We did however have a real fire and a pub next door which did tasty food. We are planning a return visit with our parents in the spring.
