Fishguard There can be few finer places to choose as a base for exploring the extremities of the far western coast of Wales than this former farmhouse set within easy reach of Fishguard and its quaint harbour. The Pembrokeshire Coast Long Distance Path is within metres of the front door of Castell Farmhouse. It hugs the clifftops and provides access to miles of stunning scenery. The National Trust, as owner of 60 miles of the Pembrokeshire coastline, is active in protecting and managing much of this glorious coastland enjoyed by visitors. To the east of Fishguard, which has a selection of popular art galleries, as well as a variety of pubs, restaurants and shops, is Dinas Island which offers a dramatic circular coastal walk. For ornithologists, Strumble Head Lighthouse and its adjacent seabird observatory, are great attractions. This remote and relatively undeveloped part of Pembrokeshire offers real opportunities for peaceful, relaxing and yet active holidays.
