 Stackpole

South Wales
South Wales is a region rich in natural resources. Beautiful valleys which once saw the growth of some of Britain’s greatest industries, offer visitors magnificent scenery and glimpses of the past. Much of the outstanding natural beauty of the area remains untouched. It is a land of contrasts, mountains and moorlands, forest and farmland and magnificent stretches of unspoilt coastline. The National Trust's interests in South Wales include large areas of the Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire and Gower, as well as the Dolaucothi Gold Mines and the Tudor Merchant's House in Tenby.

Haverfordwest
Haverfordwest is the County town of Pembrokeshire and makes an ideal base for touring. The River Cleddau winds through the centre and is spanned by two fine bridges, whilst overlooking the town are the impressive ruins of a 12th-century Norman castle. High Street and Market Street have a good range of shops, as well as some excellent pubs and cafes. Both our cottages are ideally situated for exploring the wonderful coast and countryside of west Wales. The lovely beaches at Broadhaven and Little Haven are within 15 minutes, Tenby and the Tudor Merchant's House or the cathedral city of St David's are a 30 minute drive away.

National Trust places nearby: St David's, Stackpole estate, Tudor Merchant's House, Colby Woodland Garden. Shop and pub: Haverfordwest. Tea-room/café/restaurant: Haverfordwest, Wolfcastle, Fishguard.
